Re: ng ta

Hi Andy,

Welcome to the world of NG's. First thing I would recommend is to join the owners club, it is only £15 per year which is less than 3 gallons of petrol. Once you are a member this does give you some discounts with insurance companies which will save you the membership fee. We can then put you in touch with other members in you area.

Each car is a hand crafted special so it is difficult to answer your question about general faults. That said, if it has been stood for a few years I would be tempted to check the brakes and all the rubber hoses etc that could have perished over time first, a service and just work you way around the car tidying things up to get them to the standard you require.

Don't forget once you have joined the members club then the National rally is planned for the first week in July....

I hope this helps

Paul

Re: ng ta

Hi Andy

I use RH Specialist car insurance and have always been pleased with the price ant. d the service. They offer a club discount.

As Paul says safty first give the brakes a once over. The rear brakes can be a pain if you have the older banjo axle. Oil can leak from the hubs and spoil the linings. A service and oil change should give the old B series a freshen up and gice you plenty of fun.

Any specific question please ask and we will do our best! TA's are good fun been all over the place in mine.

Hope to see you in Stratford in the summer

cheers

Jeremy

Re: ng ta

Hi Andy.
I have just bought back the NG TA I built 25 years ago. They do last well. Mine is based on the Marina, so I am having more problems finding parts than you will, should you need any. There are plenty of places stocking MGB parts, which you have probably come across. I came across a good site for hoses if you have to cobble some together, Hose World, they do all shapes and sizes. Other than that, CBS, Europa, Woolies Trim. The list goes on. Good luck with the rebuild

Re: ng ta

Hi Andy

I use a broker Graham Sykes for my insurance (graham-sykes.co.uk) £130/year, fully comp including breakdown cover
