Rear Suspension Bump Stop

So having checked out the suspension, I see I have another problem

When I was checking the car prior to its MOT last month, I noticed that there was no rear suspension bump stop on the nearside, so a new one was ordered. Going to fit it and I see that whilst the new one is 50mm deep, the one on the other side is 100mm deep. Is this an anomaly with mine, are they NG special stops. Having done some research the big one looks like a match for a commercial vehicle or a Nissan Patrol!

The build manual only refers to an MGB bump stop.

Perhaps another TF owner could have a peep under their back-end (so to speak)

Thanks

Dave

Re: Rear Suspension Bump Stop

Hello David
Sounds like you have either ordered the wrong bit or you have not been supplied with what you ordered !
50mm is about the right length.
I will send you a separate email
The bump stop is bolted thru' the chassis member and may be used internally as a seat belt anchor point.

Re: Rear Suspension Bump Stop

Thanks Chris. Well it looks like the new one is the proper MGB version, it's the other one that's incorrect. I'm now wondering if there was never one on that side, because I have just had to get a longer bolt as there isn't enough thread to refit the nut over the seatbelt plate.
