Wire Wheels

I have just finished rebuilding a Marina based TF but the wire wheels are a bit tatty. I was hoping to fit a new set of chrome wheels but the hub splines don't fit the grooves on MGB wire wheels. Does anyone know what the original wheels would have been from?

Re: Wire Wheels

I'm sorry I have no idea - they must be after market wheels as the Marina had bolt on steel wheels.

The best idea is to measure the hub diameter and count the number of splines - then contact someone like MWS who specialise in wire wheels with the hope that they will be able to help.

Hope this helps

Re: Wire Wheels

Hi Kevin,

Are the hubs bolt on or an integral part of the hub? I have a Marina based car and the splined part is bolt on. These have the same PCD as some triumphs such as Spitfires and some early TR7's.

Regards

Paul

Re: Wire Wheels

Yes - the splined hubs bolt onto the original Marina hubs. I wouldn't think that the original kit would have had custom hubs and wheels hence my question - I would think that the wheels are from something fairly standard and Triumph sounds like a good call.
