Sticking clutch

My "B" series engine NG has been laid up in a garage over the winter and today I have started the engine but the clutch has stuck on. This has happened in the past and I have been able to free it by putting it into gear before I start it and the shock of the starter motor trying to drive the car has freed it off, but not this year.

Anyone got any ideas please?
