NG TF Pedal Box

My Dad's TF has quite a lot of lateral brake/clutch pedal movement/play. It seems from the Haynes manual that there is a bronze bush pressed into the pedal arm and then a sleeve sits between this and the long pedal box bolt (fulcrum). My question is where should the pedal/clutch pedals pivot? - the bronze bush against inner sleeve (seized on our car) or the sleeve and the bolt (fulcrum)? If it is the former, then should the bolt be tighted right up - the inner sleeve therfore being effectively clamped? The inner sleeve looks to be the same longitudinal length as the bronze bush - so the large 1" washer show in the Haynes manual might end of clamping the pedal. Any advice?

Cheers

David

Re: NG TF Pedal Box

Hi David
The pedals should pivot on the bronze bush to the sleeve, and the sleeves should nip up when the pivot bolt is tightened up. All the bushes and sleeves are readily available from Mgbhive. When I replaced mine I had to put a spacer at each end of the pedals(thin washer) to remove all the lateral play.

Mark,

Thanks for the clarification. I will get the parts and sort this out when I return to the UK in the summer.

Cheers!
