Handbrake cable

When I was drilling the holes in my NG body tub, I very carefully measured them all, including the handbrake lever location. Now I'm nearing completion, I'm checking everything is working ok, and have discovered that the hadnbrake won't apply. Then adjuster below the lever is set as far as it will go, but there is still too much slack/length in the cable to make the brakes come on. Is there any way I can rectify this that won't involve re-cutting the handbrakelever hole? With the carpets in and so on, that will be a nightmare! I have double-checked and am sure that all the relevant components are installed correctly, right way round and so on. Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: Handbrake cable

Hi Ian

The critical thing is the distance between the handbrake mounting and the post on the outer cable. The latter bolts on to the tunnel to the rear of the main handbrake hole so drill a new hole for this instead of altering the handbrake hole. I had to do about 3 for mine until I was satisfied with the position. (Then I glassed the unused ones up again).
Please email me if you would like further clarification.
