Re: Exhaust Fitting

Hi Peter,

It can be a bit fiddly fitting the exhaust, but if you fit the front mounting bracket that attaches the front pipe to the bottom bell housing bolts first this aids the fitting by supporting the weight of the front pipe whilst you secure the flanges and seals. It is well worth using a sealing compound at all the joints. As I recall you will also have to adjust the angle of the pipe and shorten it slightly on the centre section or rear silencer can't quite remember which but it will be in the build manual.
Chris has some great pickies on his build site which may help, or you can call me if you wish and i'll try and talk you through it.

Re: Exhaust Fitting

Thanks Mark, I'll get some compound. Bought the Peco fitting kit from NG cars (Findhorn) and was supplied with standard MG centre and rear mounts plus the manifold O rings and 2 clamps. Strange but apparantly I should've ordered the "bespoke" fitting kit, even though I said I had the PECO exhaust. Because I didn't buy it from them it made a difference!!! Future buyers beware. If you want the bespoke fitting kit, S.P.E.L.L. I.T. O.U.T.

According to one of their engineers you don't actually need the mount on the bell housing.

Anyway Mark, any news on the Midlands meetings?
