Me too, Lal!

Thanks.

Re: Re: roof for henley

not yet seams to be about 450 for a single will find out if it gets cheaper for three

Re: Re: Re: roof for henley

Who's that quote from, Lal?

I've asked a localish place if they can come up with a ball-park figure based on a photo I've sent them!

Still waiting for a reply...

Re: Re: Re: Re: roof for henley

let me know how you got on does anybody know if the roof studs will be the same on all our cars that was a price from a firm in sussex

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: roof for henley

Hi Lal.

I think you'll find that the hood will come without poppers/studs fitted. That's usually the case with a kit car build - it's just one of the tasks that needs doing.

So shouldn't be an issue.

Haven't heard from 'my' company yet...

How did 'your' company work out a quote? Did they actually see your existing hood, or was it a rough quote from pictures/description?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: roof for henley

it was a quote from someone on this thread they had a tonneau made and highly recomend them have a look polyfacto.co

Re: roof for henley

Just to let you know, I've emailed Simon at Aldridge (as recommended by Hugo Van-Manen), attaching a couple of photos of a Henley with - and without - a hood in order to hopefully get an estimate of costs.

I mentioned that there should be at least 3 hoods required, and payment could be made in cash (with blood, on bended knee, with pound of fle... - you get the idea).

Still haven't heard from my Cornish upholsterer...

Re: Re: roof for henley

heard anything yet mate

Re: Re: Re: roof for henley

Hi Lal.

Nothing, from either place...

For pity's sakes

I emphasised that at least three peeps were after hoods, with possibly more to come.

You'd think...

Re: Re: Re: Re: roof for henley

Hi Lal.

I've just had a reply from Simon at Aldridge.

Estimate: £360+vat (£423) in double duck, and £490+vat (£575) in mohair. They'll need an existing hood to take patterns from.

It's beginning to look like £400+ is the going rate for these hoods manufactured from scratch in d-d. I doubt anyone is going to come in significantly less than this.

Aldridge are certainly a pro outfit, specialising in Jaguar refits, and also come highly recommended by our own Hugo!

They recommend the mohair over the d-d due to it being colour-fast. Personally, this wouldn't be a problem for me as my car (whenever it gets on the road...) would be garaged when not in use, so I doubt it would suffer from colour fade!

I'll chase up the other - localish - manufacturer.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: roof for henley

donnie do you know if that is with the door tops or some sort of sides

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: roof for henley

Hi Lal.

I'm sure that's just the top itself. Expect sidescreens to be around £150-ish each over that...
