THE ORIGINAL-genealogical knowledge of the American Roosevelts is that we come from near HAARLEM, NORTH HOLLAND.
It wasn't until 1920 that the "revisionist" Oud-Vossemeer,
Tholen, Zeeland, began to be accepted. YET, as late as
1938 cousin Franklin Roosevelt, the family's genealogist,
insisted that the family came from somewhere near HAARLEM,
NORTH HOLLAND, and repudiated the Tholen, Zeeland-business
as a publicity stunt to attract tourists of the beaten
track. cousin FDR is right. Too bad many modern-day
Roosevelts have acquiesed to Oud-Vossemeer, Tholen,
Zeeland, and forgotten THE ORIGINAL-genealogical knowledge
as to where our American Roosevelts came from and that
being near HAARLEM, NORTH HOLLAND. Too bad modern family
members have ignored FDR's statement on the matter given
during his 1938 interview with Virginia Pearce Delgado.
