Midlands members monthly meeting

Hi all,
I would like to arrange a regular get together for members in and around the midlands. I realise the area is quite large and could have locational problems, but I am open to suggestions. Anyone interested please reply here or e.mail me with your comments. Thanks
Mark

Re: Midlands members monthly meeting

Where in the midlands are you ?

Re: Midlands members monthly meeting

Hi Ed,

Thanks for replying, I am in Derby, where are you?
Mark

Re: Midlands members monthly meeting

I have just started building and live in South Derbyshire, (Donisthorpe). I would be interested to meet other local builders.

Re: Midlands members monthly meeting

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your reply, I hope we can get a few more folks interested from around the area, do you know of any other builders around you who may be interested, if so let them know. If we can get to say half a dozen, I'll try and sort a midpoint venue and date

Re: Midlands members monthly meeting

Sorry, don't know of any. Hopefully they will see this and post. Maybe there is a list available from the OC.

Re: Midlands members monthly meeting

Hi guys

I have an NG TA which I purchased off ebay over a year ago. She was rather sick but I'm gradually nursing her back to good health.

I live in Newborough, just outside Burton on Trent. I don't visit the website that often, but I will keep an eye on this thread. So far the midlands doesn't seem to stretch that far!

John

Re: Midlands members monthly meeting

The numbers are building slowly.

Re: Midlands members monthly meeting

Hi Peter,

That's what I wanted to see, keep em coming folks!!

Mark

Re: Re: Midlands members monthly meeting

Hi Mark. I've a NG Ascot? I'm currently building. I live in Newhall (South Derbyshire) I'm not a member at the moment, mainly becouse of the percieved lack of any local group or contacts etc.
I would certainly be interested in meeting like minded local people. (I might even join the club) RayB

Re: Midlands members monthly meeting

Ray - join us! You won't regret it. The magazine (quaterly or more and thereabouts) has lots of articles about members builds and adventures - so lots of tips + tricks for building and encouragement to get finished and driving.
The forum here is also a great way to exchange news and ideas and source parts via other members.
I'm down in Hampshire so unlikely to make a midlands meet but hope to see you at some of the shows or next year on the London to Brigthon run and i promise to make the club national rally next year - unless my TA has her way again!
Go on - join...
Dave

Re: Midlands members monthly meeting

Hi Ray, good to here from you, I totally agree with Dave , you have to join. I hope to have a venue sorted pretty soon for a meet in mid September. Watch this space as they say.
all the best

Re: Midlands members monthly meeting

What happened to the idea of a local meet. Has apathy reared it's ugly head?

Re: Midlands members monthly meeting

Hi all,

What would folks prefer a midweek or weekend meeting?
Let's have some suggestions please.
Mark

Re: Re: Midlands members monthly meeting

Hi Mark I've found with other clubs I've been a member of weekday evenings is favourite

Re: Midlands members monthly meeting

I am flexible as my job doesn't recognise weekends. I believe that a weekday would be better so as not to interfere with family stuff too much.

Re: Midlands members monthly meeting

Hi all
How about next Wednesday, 7th March, @7.00pm in the Boot Inn at Repton, nr Burton on Trent. Everyone welcome.
Mark

Re: Re: Midlands members monthly meeting

See you there

Re: Midlands members monthly meeting

I'll be there

Re: Midlands members monthly meeting

I'll be the one with the empty glass awaiting a refil then!!

Re: Midlands members monthly meeting

Hi Mark.

As I don't know the pub, is there a lounge and a bar or is there just one room.

Is this your local. If so if I ask for you at the bar would they know you. Maybe you should have something NG related on a table so that we can all see.

Thanks

Pete

Re: Midlands members monthly meeting
