Sarah Palin is not considered to be a friend of the gay community, but the Republican vice presidential candidate seems to be looming over the West Hollywood Halloween Carnival.

First, a rumor got started that city officials were going to ban Sarah Palin drag queens at its upcoming costumed street party, which draws some 500,000 people annually.

The rumor turned out to be false, but tonight comes word that a mannequin has been outfitted to look like Palin -- with glasses, a beehive wig and a red business suit -- and is hanging from a noose outside a WeHo residence.

The display also depicts a devilish John McCain emerging from flames.

"We see people stopping and taking pictures, and the tour buses are stopping and slowing down ... people reach out and take pictures,"display creator Chad Michael Morrisette said.

However, some neighbors said the effigy is in bad taste. Bad taste can one say "HATE CRIME" as well as a death threat on two politicians running for public office.

I'm waiting on your explanation that this is all a hoax and that it never happened.

Nor has personal property ie; automobiles and homes that have been vandalized for sporting McCain/Palin signs or sticklers have happened.

Tell me again how it is always the Republicans that do such crimes, never mind the jerks that went to jail for slashing rental cars tires at Republican committee parking lots.....

It reminds me of the picture in the AZ Republic this weekend, where a racist man hung a ghost in a tree and put Obama's name on it...he is racist and makes no bones about it....but the neighborhood was not happy about it.

I have not heard of anyone having their tires slashed in North carolina.
But in 2004 there was an incident involving democrat operatives slashing the tires of buses rented by the republicans to take pepole to the polls. The individuals were found and convicted. They were college students and no doubt indocrinated by anti american professors to hate the idea of free speech. Now how about ACORN Hussiens organization being investigated indicted for the felony of registering unqualified voters having people register numerous times. As in Freddie johnson in Ohio claimed that ACORN paid him in cash and cigarettes to register 73 times. No doubt you and everyone on here considers breaking the election laws fine so long as you dems benefit. Thats the reason no democrat wants people to have to be able to ideniofy themseves when voting. Democrats want one person to be many persons.

As far as people being stupid like Joy says they are on both sides. In a recent Pro- Obama Womens Bridge march here in Sarasota that My daughters attended, My Oldest who manages a dept for a Major News Paper in Miami and an Obama supporter was Covering the story.

A pick up truck with a bunch of Baldies in it drove past and was Yelling "F" the "N" and hang the "N" and "N" Lovers, then threw a few eggs. One egg hit the ground and got on my daughters shoe and Pis-sed her off. She told me "If I had a gun with me, I would have Shot them"! I told her that's the reason I Insisted that she leave her 380 that she carries in her purse at home with me!

She has it on tape and took it back to Miami but the News Paper doesn't want to cover it. Seems its rather old news to them. They did do a story on the Biggest Pro Dem march in Sarasota's History.

BTW- Any story I read that occurs in West Holly to me is old news. Most people in So. Cal don't even pay attention to it. Although the Halloween Parade is always pretty entertaining!

Sorry, Quano, but ACORN is an independent group with several divisions - not associated with the Obama campaign and certainly not with me. You will have to excuse me if I don't feel all guilty over other folks' misbehavior.

But just as an FYI, there have been no indictments of Acorn personnel. You do have a Republican Secretary of State kicking up a fuss in an effort to keep ACORN from registering voters in Indiana - but his opinion that laws have been violated don't mean anything unless he can convince a prosecutor to act.

So far, it just looks like another Republican attempt at voter suppression. I will bet that in the end nothing will come out of it.

Yes, some of the people that they have contracted for the work have done wrong - the Republicans have had the same problem. In fact, the Republicans are the only ones so far to actually have one of their contractors arrested for frauc.
