Rooms at the Antelope are probably cheaper than cabin at Lost Alaskan. From what I've heard, if you're looking for a cheap clean room with no frills, La Lomas is the motel to stay at in Alpine.

PF, thanks for the info on the La Lomas motel. I did some searching on the internet, and apparently they do not have a website. I tried calling the listed number and got forwarded to another number which sent me to a voicemail. I'm kinda 'iffy' about this, but will keep trying. I always have the fallback option (the tentsite at the cg.)

Hank, La Loma (I incorrectly added an s to the end in my previous post) is right across the street form Pecan Grove RV Park where the tent campers stayed previously. It's a bit northeast of the Antelope. Paul Cadran (Dennis's son) stayed there one night during SFR when it got down into the 20s.
