Re: Bridlington 2009

To All intending to visit the Mecca of Easter Hockey, it seems that the National Pool Championships are also taking place at Easter 2009, so accommodation will be tight, we have secured Brentwood, but possible more numbers this year, so deposits required ASAP to commit to trip...

Re: Bridlington 2009

The latest news from Rod is that the Brentwood have been in contact and are requesting the deposits, by the begining of Feb. Also as Ace Reporter has already posted, the UK pool champs are on the same weekend at Brid. The hotel have had several enquiries for that weekend and so far have turned them all down.

Rod is asking all those who want to go, to get in contact asap. The usual £20 deposit must be paid before the end of Jan. When you get in touch with him, let him know what you want (BB,BBEM,how many days stay, food requirements).

Not long to go now, so stock up on your factor 30 sun cream.

Re: Bridlington 2009

Just to add to previous updates, now I'm back home, have spoken to a pool player I know and attending the event at Brid, it is in fact the World Pool Championships, which start on 2nd April and conclude over our hockey weekend...

Will be discussing with son & heir our Brid arrangements, due to couple of little hiccups, but deposits will be enroute at weekend to Rod..

Re: Bridlington 2009

Have just got the latest info from Rod and he tells me that 20 spaces have been allocated and another 1 possible still to confirm. But only 3 deposits have been paid If anyone wants to sample the many delights of Brid they had better hurry up and let Rod know. It's only 9 weeks till Easter

More info as and when I get it from Rod

Re: Bridlington 2009

A large number of World Pool players still seeking accommodation in Brid, I know our hosts at Brentwood getting numerous requests, so very important to pay your deposit so that our needs are confirmed....

Only 59 days until the trek south commences, I have some plans for playing shirts and/or polo shirts, watch this space for costs...

Re: Bridlington 2009

Latest numbers for Brid, 8 x ladies, 9 x gents & one supporter...

On the gents side not a lot of flexibility with rolling subs methinks

Re: Bridlington 2009

Using the formula from a Kiddies book, 'Captain Underpants And the Perilous Plot Professor Poopypants' by Dave Pilkey, in which the evil Professor forces everyone to assume new names...
The Gents playing squad for Brid, even the first ones bring a smile, would be: -

Charlie - Snickle Featherchunks
Mini - Sloopy featherchunks
Rod - Cheesey Chucklejuice
Bill - Boobie Chucklejuice
Chef - Zippy Pottyshorts (used Fraz)
Brent - Dorfus feathertush
Spud - Snooty Farklehumperdinck or Dipsy Farklehumperdinck (Using Spud & Ross)
Kev - Sneezy Feathertush

Working on the ladies.......

Re: Bridlington 2009

Re: Bridlington 2009

Latest update for Monday 06 April 2009 to Sunday 12 April 2009

"More unsettled."

A change to generally unsettled weather looks increasingly likely with spells of rain for many parts.
The south is likely to see the driest weather, with clear or sunny spells appearing between bands of rain.
It will be windy at times with a risk of gales, particularly in the north and west.

Temperatures are likely to be around average for early April though there will still be a low risk of overnight frost and also some snow on the Scottish mountains
