That makes sense, since the Voyager is red-lined at 7500rpm.

On auto engines you have a lot heaver valve train, you have to have some really strong valve springs to take 7,000. The GW is red lined at 6,000. The expense of lifters might come into play, plus cam location, shims are a lot cheaper, I think most have shims.
