Well, what can I say? Now you\'re on another journey my old friend, aren’t you? I\'m sure it will be everything you thought it would be and more. Please, send us some postcards from \"over there.\" I miss our times together and look forward to more in the future. Our paradise will look like \"The Swamp\" over the old hardware store in Evanston. We\'ll play ace-deuce, listen to great music, futz with that old DOS computer, play some Leather Goddess of Phobos and Leary’s Mind Mirror. Then we’ll tell each other stories late into the night. Say hello to Del for me and keep my coffee warm until I get there. |

I knew Mickey when I owned a second-hand bookstore in Chicago called Selected Works. He would stop by at least once a week if not more often, install himself in the visitor\'s chair, and entertain me with stories from various periods of his colorful career. I remember him as an open-hearted, funny and mischievious personality, with an amusing and long surviving remnant of adolescent rebellion. I was a bit sad when came time for him to move to the west coast, although I knew it was a good thing for him to do. He would call me now and then and tell me about the wild parrots he was watching out there in Oakland or other adventures in California. I missed his visits though. And now he\'s gone. He\'s someone I\'ll always remember. |

Thank you all for remembering my father, Marcus Hollenberg. I have created a website where everyone can remember him through our family photos, video and audio recordings. If you have stories of your own, you can sign this guest book to share. If you\'d like to contact my brother Adam or myself, you can reach us through the contact button at the memorial website: https://rememberingmickey.blogspot.com/. My Dad was a loving, caring, funny and amazing person. I will miss him until the last days of my lifetime, and cherish all of the gifts that he shared. |
