For many years I was against joining a fraternity due to the negative image and habits I witnessed. I thought that being a Mason was smarter. But it was FAR WORSE. I finally made the decision to join PBS as an older man because I believe in the root of the organization which is total inclusion for all men of all races. Our motto is Brother, Scholarship and Service. No, I don\'t believe all habits of the men in the organization are good but what organization is? I have vowed to live by example as a Godly man in my fraternity and I am well known as such. I pray I never fall pray to any tricks and I have never participated in hazing or cultish acts. I\'ve seen enough to know them when I was a Mason, which I denounced many years ago. Whichever organization you join, serve in it so it works for the good of Jesus and NEVER man! The 12 rules of good living we practice is my main reason for joining and their servant foundations for over 100 years.

you all put to much in BGLO\'s. no one ever compared the power of God raising his only begotten son Jesus Christ to anything. your mother beat your ass and never was she compared to Jesus. You feared you parents but never did you compare them to Christ. How would one respond to a Greek that says that the evil rituals and worshipping of gods has been eradicated from the organizations?? Alot of the proof given in Min. Hatchett\'s book was from the 1990\'s

I can respond to that sir. I have talked to many Greeks that have recently denounced. Nothing much has changed. I got my hands on a more recent Omega Psi Phi ritual. The scripture where they leave off Jesus\' Name is still left off. I have copies that are in the 2000\'s as well. I will put this post on the forum so it will get more exposure.

So are you saying in totality, that a Christian who joins a BGLO like the divine nine in particular, are indeed going to hell? if salvation is what keeps you from going to hell, christians are compromsing their salvation by joining BGLOs and thus opening the door for them to go to hell?

I want to thank you for having this website, it makes me feel much better about what I\'m gonna say... my twin sister died pledging AKA. The night she passed, my mom got a call from one of her line sisters saying an \"incident\" occurred and come to the hospital asap. What we weren\'t told was that she was already brain dead when she got to the hospital. It has been almost two years since I lost my sister and no one has come forward about what happend that night. I just wonder how many minutes passed....how long did she lay there, fighting to breathe until she took her last breath? My family has a lawsuit currently pending against AKA, but what can I do to reach out to more people and teach about the violence of hazing

First off, I am deeply sorry for your sister\'s death. What haunts me is the fact of her being brain dead. I want you to call me, 919/278-8911. I can\'t give the details here as to why. I can say this, all the information you chronicle should be factual, and any information that is not should be noted as such. If you have a lawsuit, I wouldn\'t put any information in writing in public yet. Write a complete history of our sister\'s interest all the way to her death, and then the aftermath (line sisters, chapter, sorority, friends, etc. actions or reactions to her death). Put this all in writing. Then when the time comes, you have a detailed history of the whole thing. It makes for less speculation on your part. Find out people who knew her outside the sorority.

I first would like to say that one is entitled to their own discernment and interpretation, nor will I defend every organization. With that said, I will say that these comments are offensive and ambiguous. If one were to find the a specific part of the bible such as polygamy, where one could actually call Jesus a polygamist, would you as a minister believe it? Where there is a quite bit of evidence in both Old and New Testament that may support this theory. I know that the Word says that these greatest commandments is to love God and to love others as you love God. Now, I am a firm believer, and my organization will never trump my salvation. With that being said, I will also oppress and persecute an individual to get secret information from a respective organization. Secrets were made because anybody could say that they are a member, so there had to validity in their statement. I pledged, and I did not denounce my salvation. I did not pray to no gods. I believe you are arguing to the culture that has created stigmas in the black community such as school daze or some stories you may have encountered. With that being said I commend for your work, because not everyone is meant to become Greek. They cannot handle the balancing act of it such as your personal beliefs, and you pledge to your respective college and community. I would not be so caught up on Greek lettered organizations, but more so on the young black boy or girl, who is not receiving an adequate education or are in indigent neighborhoods. All things work for the greater good in Christ right? Could we not be vessels of our my, your, or OUR GOD??? I could write more, but I believe you get my point.

Alpha Gamma Sigma and Freemasonry

First off, I would like to state that I understand everyone has the right to the pursuit of happiness - however, I cannot for the life of me see how a person\'s right to pursuit of happiness can be vindicated by oppressing others. And that is exactly what this so-called \"Minister\" is doing. This site reeks just the same as the Westboro Baptist Church reeks - of being hypocritical.

Now, I am a member of Alpha Gamma Sigma (one semester) and Freemason (since 2004). The \"secrets\" that are being sought for being \"un-Christian\" are nothing more than member recognition and ritual. The ritual is nothing more than an elaborate system to impress upon the new members what the organization\'s values are.

As a Freemason, I can tell you that there are troves of information on the Fraternity at your fingertips - it\'s an ordeal to sift through the garbage and find the truth, but it IS out there. For those who are curious - Freemasonry REQUIRES the belief in a higher power. How is this un-Christian?

Unless of course, you\'re referring to the closed-minded Christians who believe that THEIR way is the only way, and anyone who isn\'t a Christan is going to Hell - thereby ****ing 99% of the Ancient World simply because there was no internet to broadcast messages by.

For the record - I am \"officially\" a Baptist. However, first my mind was opened, and then followed my eyes, and I realized that Christians are just another cult - just like Muslims, Buddhists, Wiccans, and Catholics. The truth is, these cults - none of them are entirely wrong. They all worship the SAME higher power - just in their own ways. Well except for Catholics, they stole the Wiccan practices and condemned the Wiccans as demon worshippers, but...they\'re Catholic..what else is there to say?

To devote one\'s life to seeking out and trying to undermine organizations that devote their entire existence in improving their members, and their communites... this simply shouts \"I am a pathetic individual who was found lacking, and as such was denied admittance to a society - therefore in my passion of anger, I choose to attack the organization that did not accept me, instead of looking at myself and realizing my shortcomings, and why I wasn\'t accepted.\"

Face it - there IS no \"I was a former member, who saw the truth\". Because if someone IS a member, and they DO realize the TRUTH - they will be even more devoted to the organization. I realized the TRUTH about Freemasonry, and as a result I am a THOUSAND times more ecstatic about being able to name myself a member of the Fraternity.

As for Greek organizations - some of them may not be organizations intended to better their members and shape them to be better citizens for having been a part of the organization...but the vast majority of Greeks that I have come into contact with are definitely better people for having been a part of a Greek organization.

I understand your points, but I would like to say in our defense that not ALL chapters of EVERY GLO do shady things or haze. My chapter promotes and encourages Bible study and fellowship within our organization and the other GLOs on our campus. Yes, many many organizations DO blaspheme, but not ALL. I feel it\'s unfair to lump us all into one generalization. We\'re not all hell-bound. ;)

I have not lumped all into the same category. They lump themselves together. Bible Studies among Greek life could never honestly study the rituals of the organization with others (brothers and sisters in Christ), THOSE OTHERS present. So for the sake of truth, you all conveniently leave that out. And having Bible Studies does not make one heaven bound either!!!!!!!!!!!
